Davida
D. Barter
Davida has been a legal secretary/paralegal since 1972 and employed at Wright & Mills since 1982. She graduated from Skowhegan Area High School and is currently taking public administration courses at the University of Maine.
Davida's duties at Wright & Mills include family matters, real estate, wills and probate.
She has participated in numerous legal secretarial/paralegal seminars. Since l975, she has been a member of NALS, the association for legal professionals, and was instrumental in forming Kennebec-Somerset Legal Secretaries Association (KSLSA), now known as NALS of Central Maine. Davida is a past president of NALS of Central Maine and NALS of Maine. She has received KSLSA's Legal Secretary of the Year Award, and NALS of Maine Award of Excellence.
She is very active in community affairs. She has been a member of GFWC/Maine Federation of Women's Clubs since l974 and served as its president from l992 to l994. She is a past president of the GFWC/Semper Fidelis Club and past president of the Skowhegan Chamber of Commerce. She currently holds the elected positions of Chairman of the Board of Selectmen for the Town of Skowhegan and Secretary/Treasurer of Coburn Park Commission. She received Citizen of the Year Awards from the Chamber of Commerce in 1982 and 1992, as well as from the Skowhegan Madison Elks in 2001.

Brenda
Plourde
Brenda has been a legal
secretary/paralegal at Wright & Mills
in Skowhegan since 1982. She attended Thomas College and holds an
Associate's Degree in legal secretarial
studies and a Bachelor's Degree in
Business Administration. She has served as
President of the Maine Association of
Legal Support Staff. Brenda
received the Award of Excellence from the
Kennebec-Somerset Legal Secretaries
Association and the Association of Legal Support
Staff.
While at Wright &
Mills, she manages all files pertaining to
personal injury claims and handles the
defense work on behalf of the architects
and engineers that the firm represents. In
doing so, she answers and propounds
interrogatories, interviews witnesses,
photographs accident scenes, investigates
field conditions, tracks court and
deposition schedules, assembles and
structures medical records, coordinates
trial preparation and performs a variety
of other functions necessary for effective
management of civil litigation.

Cindy L. Burke
Cindy was born and raised in Waterville, Maine where she graduated with honors from Waterville Senior High School. She has an Associate's Degree in legal secretarial studies from Fisher Junior College; a Bachelor's Degree (magna cum laude) in Business Administration from Northeastern University; and a Paralegal Certificate from Bentley College. Cindy has been a legal secretary/paralegal with Wright & Mills in Skowhegan since 2005.
Prior to working at Wright & Mills, Cindy was a secretary/paralegal for almost 29 years in Boston, Massachusetts. The first 20 years she worked for a founding member of NAELA, Harley Gordon, where she was office manager and handled all aspects of probate including drafting of Wills, Trusts and estate planning documents. She also handled the probating of estates, guardianships and conservatorships. In 1997, Cindy began working as a secretary/paralegal at Todd & Weld LLP in Boston. While with Todd & Weld, she worked for a variety of associates as a litigation paralegal and during the last two years with the firm she worked for a partner who specialized in class action lawsuits. She has experience in drafting complaints, answers, interrogatories, requests for production of documents, motions and other litigation documents, as well as conducting legal research, and preparing cases for trial.

Jennifer Zachel Goodwin
Jennifer was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio and graduated in the top one percent of her class at Edward Drummond Libbey High School. After graduation, she performed nine months of full time volunteer ministry service while supporting herself working various secretarial assignments through Kelly Services. She has attended various classes in the paralegal technology program at the University of Toledo.
Jennifer brings with her over 26 years' experience as a legal secretary/assistant. She began her legal career in 1981 working for a sole practitioner in Detroit, Michigan. Since then, Jennifer has worked for several law firms in Michigan and Ohio. For 11 years, she was with the law firm of Fuller & Henry in Toledo, Ohio where she assisted a partner who specialized in workers' compensation, products liability, and insurance defense work. She worked for Smith, Haughey, Rice & Roegge in Traverse City, Michigan for five years where she specialized in family law, criminal law, commercial litigation, adoptions, and estate planning. Just prior to joining the staff of Wright & Mills in January 2007, she worked at the law firm of Eastman & Smith in Toledo, Ohio in its medical malpractice defense section, where she assisted in preparing complex tort cases for trial. Jennifer has extensive experience in preparing complaints, answers, interrogatories, requests for production of documents, motions and other legal documents.
While in Michigan, Jennifer was an active member of the Grand Traverse Area Legal Professionals, a division of NALS.
