Peter Mills
Peter Mills joined Carl Wright to practice law in Skowhegan in 1982 after gaining years of experience in a large Portland law firm. Mr. Mills was president of the Maine Trial Lawyers and inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has served many years in the Maine State Senate, one term in the Maine House of Representatives and twice run for Governor of Maine.

Robert Conkling
Robert Conkling joined Mills, Shay, Lexier & Talbot as a law clerk during the summer of 1994 while in law school and remained after passing the bar exam in 1996. He is involved in appellate work, commercial matters, construction disputes, estate planning for the elderly, and criminal defense work.

Ken Lexier
Kenneth Lexier started with Mills, Shay, Lexier & Talbot during law school in the summer of 1989 and has worked full time for the firm since becoming an attorney in 1991. Mr. Lexier has represented clients in a variety of areas including divorce, child custody, criminal, workers’ compensation, social security appeals, real estate, land use and personal injury.

Michael Talbot
J. Michael Talbot has been the Public Administrator for Somerset County since 1984 and has been a Justice of the Peace (authorized to issue search warrants and involuntary placements) since the early 1990’s. Mr. Talbot is a former Adjutant instructor at Thomas College. Mr. Talbot is fluent in French and welcomes any French speaking clients. Mr. Talbot has an active practice including the following areas: probate, domestic relations, criminal, real estate, personal injury, corporations, estate planning, landlord/tenant, and elder law.

Warren Shay
Warren C. Shay represents Towns and Counties on governmental issues and represents many businesses and institutions on corporate, financial and real estate matters. He represents clients in boundary disputes, road disputes, timber trespass disputes, foreclosures, title searches, partition actions and issues concerning docks, beaches and common areas. He represents a number of non-profit road and landowner associations. Mr. Shay also handles probate and estate planning matters. His practice includes trial work in Probate Court and the State District, Superior and Supreme Court.
